Milwaukee 48-59-2818 18-Volt to 28-Volt Lithium-Ion and NiCad Slide Style 1 Hour Battery Charger

Milwaukee 48-59-2818 18-Volt to 28-Volt Lithium-Ion and NiCad Slide Style 1 Hour Battery Charger

The Milwaukee 18-to-28-Volt Universal Battery Charger charges both Li-Ion and Ni-Cad batteries from 18-to-28-volts.

This universal charger makes the transition from Ni-Cad to newer Li-Ion batteries seamless by providing single charger simplicity. The charger will charge Li-ion batteries in 1-hour and Ni-Cad batteries in 40-minutes. Ni-Cad packs will charge 20-minutes faster on this charger than the current Milwaukee Ni-Cad-only chargers. The charger also features a top-off conditioning mode that automatically conditions 18-volt Ni-Cad battery cells for extended battery life. Automatic temperature monitoring continually monitors the battery's temperature and deliverers the appropriate current for that temperature. Progressive charge indication battery LEDs light up incrementally as the battery is charged. This feature provides a quick indication of remaining charge time or if the pack is charged enough for the job at hand. A pass-through plug conserves valuable outlet space and rubberized feet keeps the charger in place.

From the Manufacturer
Dual Chemistry Charger charges both Lithium¿Ion & NiCd batteries from 18V to 28V. Typically, 18V users have 5 to 6 NiCd batteries. The new universal Charger makes the transition from NiCd to Li-ion seamless by providing single charger simplicity. Charge Time - (Li-ion 1-Hour /NiCd 40 min.) NiCd packs will actually charge 20 minutes faster on the new Universal Charger than the current NiCd only charger #48-59-0255 (40 vs. 60 min.) Top-Off Conditioning Mode (NiCd Packs Only) automatically conditions the 18V NiCd battery cells to extend their run-time and life. Milwaukee Li-ion batteries do not need Top-Off conditioning due to their built-in Performance Optimizing Circuit which constantly maintains cell balance. Broad Temperature Charging - Milwaukee's V-Technology charger delivers an Optimal Charge Current over a 117° range (32°- 149°F). Conversely, Milwaukee's NiCd charger has a smaller 72° range. Automatic Temperature Monitoring continually monitors the battery's temperature and deliverers the appropriate charge current for that temperature. Progressive Charge Indication battery LED's light-up incrementally as the battery is charged. Provides quick indication of remaining charge time or if pack is charged enough for the job at hand. Pass-Through Plug conserves valuable outlet space Rubberized Feet keeps charger in place while on slick surfaces Gray Terminal Block signifies dualchemistry charging functionality and provides visual differentiation from V28 Only Charger (black terminal block). COMPATIBLE WITH ALL MILWAUKEE 18V TO 28V BATTERIES.

Powerful Homeowner Tool
I am a Do-It-Yourself (DIY) Homeowner who just purchase this powerful little sub compact driver. I own the Dewalt 7 volt driver and I compared the two. There is no comparison... The Milwaukee is a powerful, versatile "go to" tool that should be in every homeowners tool box. I don't buy cheap tools . you just get frustrated, bust your knuckels or botch the job you're working on. I compared the two drill/ drivers against a powerful corded drill by driving large screws (and I mean large for most homeowners) and using large drill bits in some seasoned old forest oak wood. The Milwaukee performance was strong and fast and will definitely handle most if not all jobs around the home. However don't throw away your 18 volt or corded drill, just put them up. I will be selling my Dewalt or consigning it to the tool shed. more review
